Vectorial® system to improve accessibility in the streets.

200123 Vectorial Olympia WashingtonThe purpose of the project was to design, develop and manufacture for ZICLA a platform to improve accessibility at bus stops both for people with disabilities and general users. The platform had to consist of attachable elements allowing it to be laid in parallel with the direction of the street and also towards the street. It also had to be highly visible and highly resistant to compression, impacts and bad weather. It also had to be manufactured in a recycled material that was, itself, recyclable. ZICLA was responsible for designing and developing the engineering and looking for an appropriate material and the best possible manufacturing technology.

The result: a modular bus platform.

The result was a flexible, modular platform with a length adapting the bus concerned and a width adjusting to any limiting conditions, such as the presence of waste containers or parked vehicles. It is manufactured by injection moulding and the material used is recycled PVC from waste electric cable jackets and post-industrial PVC waste, etc.
