Koala Rotulación is a business based on the Artegoiti industrial state in Basauri (Bizkaia) working in the digital sign and printing sector. With the Koala project, the company has become involved in managing the waste created in its sign and print processes by applying circular economy strategies.
The project has analyzed the current situation of this management and its immediate and future improvement possibilities with the short-term aim of obtaining ISO 14001 Environmental Management Certification.
Tasks carried out during the Koala project.
These are the tasks that have been carried out during the Koala project:
- Identifying the background and characteristics of the waste generated in the company’s daily activities.
- Setting out the most sustainable management alternatives for the waste, taking into account circular economy criteria, in particular by using recycling, eco-design and environmental promotion strategies in the value chain.
- Development of a management improvement plan in the short, medium and long term, included in a road map and taking into account the results obtained in the previous points.
Funding of the Koala project.
The Koala project has been considered for funding as part of the “Behargintza” Basauri-Etxebarri grants, providing economic assistance for the design and/or development of projects that improve the competitiveness of small companies on industrial states in both municipalities.
